Itinerary:

Day 01 Arrive Airport – Negombo (Approx. 30mins | 20 km)
● On arrival at the Bandaranaike International airport, you will be warmly greeted by your very own chauffeur guide and transferred to Negombo. (Approx. 30 min. drive). On arrival in the hotel, spend the day at leisure relaxing and enjoying the hotel facilities.
● Spend overnight at a Hotel in Negombo on Bed & Breakfast basis.
Negombo’s beach is very wide in places and also the heartland of Christian Sri Lanka, as borne out by the enormous churches and florid wayside catholic shrines scattered about the town and its environs. The Dutch made the town an important commercial centre, building a canal, on which spices, particularly cinnamon, which grew profusely in the surrounding areas-where transported from the interior to the coast prior to being shipped abroad.

Day 02 Negombo– Sinharaja Rainforest (Approx. 5 hrs and 30 min. drive)
● 06.30: Early Breakfast at Hotel
● 07.00: Wetland bird-watching tour in Muthurajawela Sanctuary
● 10.00: Proceed to Sinharaja Rainforest
● 16.30: Check-into your hotel and spend rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the hotel facilities
● Spend overnight at The Rainforest Ecolodge – Sinharaja on Half Board basis.
Wetland bird-watching tour in Muthurajawela Sanctuary
The region supports 192 distinct species of flora and 209 distinct species of fauna, including Slender Loris. Some of the identified species have been shown to be indigenous to the marsh. Birds are the dominant group of vertebrates in Muthurajawela. It consists of 102 species including one endemic. Of the total species, 19 migrants have been recorded. The mixture of vegetation types and aquatic habitats in Muthurajawela has made it an ideal eco-zone for a variety of birds.

Day 03 Sinharaja Rainforest
● 05.30: Early morning Trekking at Sinharaja Rainforest
● 08.00: Breakfast at Hotel
● 12.00: Lunch at Hotel (Payment direct)
● 15.00: Evening Trekking at Sinharaja Rainforest
● Spend overnight at The Rainforest Ecolodge – Sinharaja on Half Board basis.
Trekking at Sinharaja Rainforest
You will get your wakeup call that give you the message to get ready for the morning trekking tour that will start at 5:30am. This early morning trails will provide maximum opportunity to witness the beauty of the rainforest. Sinharaja rain forest is a UNESCO world heritage site. This Tropical Wet Evergreen Forest is undoubtedly a rich treasure trove of nature with a great diversity of habitats and a vast repository of endemic species. Bird Watching in this ecosystem is particularly interesting because it is home to 95% of the endemic birds of Sri Lanka. This lowland evergreen rain forest is steeped in deep legend and mystery.

Day 04 Sinharaja Rainforest – Udawalawa (Approx. 3 hrs and 30 min. drive)
● 08.00: Breakfast at Hotel
● 09.00: Proceed to Udawalawe
● 12.00: Arrive to the campsite for lunch
● 14.30: Afternoon Safari at Udawalawe National Park
● 19:30: Enjoy drinks around the campfire with appetizers
● 20:30: BBQ dinner under the stars
● Spend overnight at Camping site on Half Board basis
Important tips
This is an adventure base camping experience that has the basic amenities for lodging.
Please bring trekking shoes and comfortable clothing.
Please don’t bring plastic bottles, polyethene bags and any other garbage materials to the campsite.
Each client has to plant 3 trees in the selected locations.
Each guest should collect all plastic and polyethene garbage during the trekking and give them to the camp manager or naturalist.
Safari at Udawalawe National Park
Afternoon you will proceed to do a game drive in Udawalawe National Park where you will encounter Sri Lankan Elephants, which are relatively hard to see in its open habitats. Other than the Elephants, the park is home to water Buffalo, water Monitor Lizards, Sambar Deer, Monkeys and the occasional Leopard, as well as it is an exciting location for Bird enthusiasts.

Day 05 Udawalawa- Yala (Approx. 3 hrs drive)
● 08.00: Breakfast at the campsite
● 10.00: Proceed to Yala
● 13.00: Check-into Leopard Nest for lunch
● 14.30: Afternoon Safari at Yala National Park
● Spend overnight at Leopard Nest on Half Board basis
Safari at Yala National Park
Enjoy the thrilling adventure of Wildlife with a safari tour in Yala National Park which has the highest density of Leopards in the world. You will explore this beautiful national park with so many other animals including sloth bear, elephant, and wild water buffalo with many varieties of endemic Flora and Fauna.

Day 06 Yala- Gal Oya (Approx. 7.5 hrs drive)
● 06.30: Early Breakfast at the campsite
● 07.00: Early morning safari at Bundala National Park
● 11.00: Proceed to Galoya
● 18.30: Check-into Galoya Lodge and spend rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the hotel facilities.
● Spend overnight at Gal Oya Lodge on Half Borad basis.
Safari at Bundala National Park
You will be taken to Bundala National Park which is an important wintering ground for migratory water birds. Afternoon Game drive to Bundala National Park is a 3 hours game viewing opportunity with Safari Team. This is an important wintering ground for migratory water birds. Bundala harbors 197 species of birds, the highlight being the greater Flamingo, which migrate in Large Flocks.

Day 07 Gal Oya- Kandy (Approx. 3.5 hrs drive)
● 06.00: Leave with your guide to do an exciting safari in the National park by boat.
● 09.30: Breakfast at the hotel
● 10.30: Proceed to Kandy
● 13.30: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant
● 14.30: Do a city tour in Kandy including Kandy Tooth Relic Temple
● 19:00: Check-into Simpson’s Forest Hotel.
● Spend overnight at Simpson’s Forest Hotel on Full board basis.
Safari at Gal Oya National Park by boat
Enjoy the only experience in Sri Lanka that allows you to spot wildlife from the water. It’s a unique way to immerse yourself in the animals’ habitats. With a little luck you could spot elephants swimming between islands or bathing at the lake’s edge.
Kandy City Tour
In the afternoon, you will enjoy a city tour in Kandy. To the Buddhists of Sri Lanka and the World, Kandy is one of the most sacred sites as it is the home of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. During this city tour, you will cover Bahirawakanda temple, upper lake drive, art and craft center, cultural show and Kandy temple.

Day 08 Kandy-Airport (approx..3.5 hours drive)
● Breakfast at the hotel
● Free at leisure till departure
● As all good things come to an end, you will be safely driven to the airport for your flight back home having sweet memories of the tour with Eco-coach & Tours!
